1990
Trading as Central Meat Supplies Ltd, the company began operating from a two thousand square food, small industrial unit, manufacturing doner kebabs and further processing lamb. The product range was extremely limited, servicing a hand full of customers predominantly located in and around Manchester where the directors had relationships with some of the local community.
1993
The customer base started to grow and the need to expand the product range was becoming a necessity. The Director Mr Noori took the decision to rent one of five units located on Unicorn Industrial Estate which facilitated a production facility and a small sized cash and carry where other essential items could be stocked and sold. The business rebranded and Central Frozen Food Supplies Ltd was incorporated.
1996
Now operating with two sprinter vans and a small HGV, the opportunity to rent a further unit arose which enabled the introduction of more food service items. Central Frozen Food Supplies Ltd was looking to service the fast food market as a one stop shop but was still space restricted, limiting growth.
1998
After other businesses operating from the estate vacated, Central Frozen Food Supplies Ltd was the sole tenant of Unicorn Industrial Estate, occupying all five units. Further vehicles were added to the fleet and the customer base and regional footprint increased where the business was developing a solid reputation within the areas it traded.
2005
Central Frozen Food Supplies Ltd were able to agree a deal to acquire the trading estate. This was a big step and a very proud moment for the business having worked its way up from a single unit.
2009
The Take away market was growing and more vehicles were added to the fleet in order to service customers efficiently. The number of employees within the team was now at twenty five and the annual turnover of the business was steadily increasing year on year.
2012
With increased buying power, Central Frozen Food Supplies Ltd was able to take some agencies on key products. This facilitated an increase in turnover where it was possible to wholesale in bulk these respective items and also opened up a new market whereby trading was possible.
2015
Central Frozen Food Supplies Ltd had now outgrown the current infrastructure of the site. Increased sales meant that more product was needed and therefore the decision was taken to build an external storage unit, housing six hundred frozen pallets and two hundred ambient pallets. This was an investment that meant the business could now massively develop the product range and buy in bulk, improving service, reliability and also profitability in turn.
2018
By now Central Frozen Food Supplies Ltd was operating with a fleet of ten vehicles covering a radius of fifty miles from their Stoke on Trent depot. The expansion plans for the company once more meant that the operating space was not sufficient and more space was required. The business was able to agree a deal to acquire an additional twenty five thousand square foot unit located adjacent to the depot which served purpose to holding an additional seven hundred frozen pallets and three hundred and fifty ambient pallets.
2021
The business was at a point where the storage units and supporting infrastructure were far greater and more advanced than the core distribution warehouse itself. The units which were taken by Central Frozen Food Supplies Ltd over the years were pieced together in order to serve purpose, but never purpose built which always hindered the efficiencies and potential capacity it could fulfil. The Directors took the decision to rebuild the most integral part of the business in two stages and create a purpose built distribution facility.
2022
The building work on the warehouse was finally complete and a distribution facility to be proud of was now the heartbeat of the business. Equipped with five loading bays and dock levellers, the capacity of the warehouse could now keep up with the eighteen operational vehicles used daily by the company. The delivery radius now exceeded one hundred miles with an ever expanding product range to service multiple types of food service outlets, truly offering a one stop shop service.
The title of the business was no longer reflecting the true offering of our product range. With over two thousand items split between frozen, chilled and ambient, the directors felt that a more fitting name was required and took the hard decision to rebrand as ‘Central Food Service Ltd’.
2023
A further two HGV vehicles were added to the fleet now making up a total of twenty operational vehicles. With our new branding, we proudly modernised our truck livery across the fleet and simultaneously launched our new product catalogue. The business set a record year for its turnover and operates with ninety dedicated employees.
